I Was considering purchasing a pumpout for my Boxxer 421 and ran accross this article http://www.simplysteaming.com/simply-st ... m#Comments for an APO using a Shurflo pump. I personaly talked to the guy and he says he has had no issues with it, works great. Definitely a huge difference in cost if your the DIY'er type. $500 vs $1700 http://interlinksupply.com/index.html?i ... PHY079-091 for the Dura-flo, but I did notice he is using a manual ball valve as a backflow/check valve. Kind of takes the A out of APO, IMO. Would a valve such as this http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... 5f13736960 work to prevent a leak when the pump isnt running or would it get easily clogged?

Any comments on the feasability of the project in general would be appreciated.

Thanks

Get a Simer Pump model BW85P from Northern Tool and a check valve from Lowe's and you're good to go.

Add a Rule bilge pump switch from West Marine and you're auto.

Been using this setup for years. Posted pics a few times.

Im going to try this as a pumpout, http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-ma ... 94639.html
I seen someone else use it and I guess it work pretty good. For less than 50 dollars for the pump you cant go wrong.

Famous last words. In fact, you CAN go wrong. It's junk. Go back to that link, scroll down and READ the reviews.

Not trying to be mean, but I'm sure you can't afford to waste $$

Thanks,
Lee

Good thing I haven't tried it yet sounds like it doesn't work so well.
