I was in JC Pennys today for some glasses. While waiting, I was checking out the carpet, and it looked fresh cleaned, but smudgy and streaky, with wand overlap marks. I'm not sure what was used, but it was not a good cleaning.

I'm not sure if it was in-house cleaners, or a contractor.

I look at the carpets no matter where I'm at. After 20+ years doing this it becomes a way of life.

Yeah, I'm always looking at floors, and I'll mutter things to myself. My family and friends think I'm crazy when I go on tantrums about fiber contents in carpet or uph, or what type of stone. However they usually call me, or have me go with them when they go to pick out new textiles or upholstery so the salesman isn't BS'in them. I've called a few of them out before when they claim unrealistic expectations.

I can't step into a building without checking out the carpets.

Disney World was a trip! Everywhere I went it was carpet, carpet and more carpet!

Did you know the Haunted Mansion is fully carpeted too?

I LoVe Disney World!

Being an electrician for so many years I always look up at lighting when I went out to eat...now that I clean carpets..I look down....

probably explains why my neck is so screwed up...I don't know what end to grab anymore...........

Who cares?
Usually it is brokered by a management group.

Would you clean it for 8 cents?

I have one calling me a couple of times a month for cleaning the mall here.

Sure, I will if they will let me encap it and give me the whole mall.

.08 X 3500sq/ft an hour for wide open space is $280.00 an hour.

When I first started up my own business, I was doing jobs for a national company called "Cleanway". It probably paid about 5-8 cents a foot, but it was cash flow. When I started taking too much time to clean for them, especially on Sunday nights, I gave it up.
