Was considering getting a rotovac 360i for both carpet cleaning and tile cleaning. I have read alot of good things about it on here and seen youtube video's of it. but my main supplier had this to say on it.
"Craig,
You would not be happy with a 360i they don’t clean all that well.

We originally put them on sale to for the guy’s that wanted a cheap rotary but Hydramaster has dropped the price on the RX-20.

The 360i is too light and it jumps all over the place. If you hit something it normally causes major damage. My advise is stick to the original and still the best the extra weight is need to make the tool effective."

What are your thoughts on that?

Your suppliers has his head up his arse.

and the "i" version fixed the whack it and break a gear issue.

Many members have bought one and no real complaints at all.

You will not regret buying one.

I didn't see this on the Aussie Forum.??

I have never caused any damage with my RX20, but I know of several that have, especially on seams.

I find your suppliers words hard to believe, or maybe I've just been uncannily lucky with mine and had zero problems of which he/she speaks.

On commercial floor with direct stick, if the slab is uneven, the 360i can jump about a bit, but nothing serious.

The variable speed control has a great advantage ove the RX20

The 360i is so much easier to handle the the RX20, is lighter, dries the carpet a whole lot quicker, and gives as good, and in many cases, a better clean on the carpet.

But that's just my opinion.

BTW, I have a slow speed RX20, complete with power module and all attachments, hoses, etc; for sale.

Actually it's a re-badged CMX20 made by HydraMaster.

I have always been an avid RX user......I never thought that I would ever see anything that would be better...I bought the 360i and it has put the RX to shame....it moves better in tight areas...it flushes better...the recover on this thing still amazes me.......it fits under the edges of bed....the low profile hold the heat and there is no over spray....it edges really good....

there are a few things that you have to do......pig tale the cord so you can detach it from the machine.....it is very long and it makes it better to manage.....

the rx you move back and forth...360i...does better moving in a figure 8 type motion..you can also move it forward and back like a wand to really help bring back bad traffic areas....

300 to 350 psi seems to be the sweet spot and it really does not need more then that....

on the higher pile carpets....you have to go a bit slower and over lap .....it is just a tad low and I don't think the jets can disperse the water as well as the lower pile floors.....so you just have to slow down a bit....

buy some 2 inch thick felt...the kind with the sticky stuff on one side.....put it around the edge of the dome about 1/2 inch off the bottom....then you can run it along the base boards and edge with it ....it does a great job....

it is definitely a keeper....I would be getting a hold of Olsen and get one ordered before everyone really finds out how good they are and they start jacking the price...........

I've put well over 1000 hours on one. I used to have an RX20 as well. The RX doesn't even compare. RV360i will out clean it any day. I have all the tools and scrubbers yet the RV still amazes me on jobs. Your supplier is dumb or has never really cleaned with one.

Memories....................

The post I put up above was copied from the Aussie forum, not my words.

I have had no problems with my 360i like your supplier talks about.

Has he ever used one in a real life situation,?? I doubt it.

He probably gets a better commission for the RX20.

Speaking of which, mine is for sale.

But you will have to pry my 360i from my dead, lifeless fingers with a crow bar.

Try hauling the RX20 up three flights of stairs, then run up with the 360i.

Which is more important to your health. ??

Umm Jeremy ran the snake skin over the dirty edge of the carpet. Tom, Martin and myself seen what happened and tried to point out where the dirt came from but trying to talk over everyone wasn't worth it. I will take a 360i over anything in a residential but the RX will always be my go to for commercial.

I agree with the cleaning power and ease of use of the 360i, but I have had problems removing the swirls for the customers that don't like them. I have tried raking and going over with a wand but there are still traces... any suggestions?

instead of raking try taking your wand and just a quick vacuum does the trick

I use both the RV 360 and RX the RX is better on glue down commerical
