Serial is good. I listened to a couple episodes today.

The first season was excellent too.

Knowing how immensely unreliable the flowswitch on the diesel burning ElDiablo is.....you better make sure you develop good hearing to keep an ear on the rumbling of the fire.

So no earplugs for anyone using these units.

Otherwise you could blow the whole thing up...

You put the wand down to move some things, or to tie your shoe laces or whatever. And if the flowswitch is stuck in the on position, the fire will be burning while water is not running through the system- Causing the water to heat heat heat and with that, raising the pressure like crazy.

If it isn't clear.... I made these multiple posts over the years on this- in case one time I won't catch it on time and I blow the whole thing up and burn a customer's house. I am going to need this to present to the judge that it's a major design flaw...that was noted many times over and even flowswitch replacements don't fix it.

I also listen through my Bluetooth ear bud so people don't know I am listening to something. I don't want to look like I am not focusing on my work.

Personally, I don't want any of my guys distracted by music or podcasts while they're working. Plus, I would think the customer would not be pleased to see guys needing entertainment while they're extracting dollars from her pockets pretty quickly sometime. So I don't do it and have asked them not to. Just my personal way of doing things.

I do listen to a ton of podcasts at home, though. Check out "The Higherside Chats."

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. The Genghis Khan series is excellent.
Mike Duncan. Both The history of Rome and Revolutions are good. A bit dry but good
Also like History of the Crusades.
I never listen while I work. But when I'm driving I do.

Empty, left home alone or commercial work only .. I usually jump when a customer has a question. Now if theres an annoying dog who wont stop barking, I do wear earplugs and ignore the customer unless I want something !!

Small Bluetooth in one ear for taking calls or listening to a podcast or music for me. It's super easy to pause. My phone never makes a noise anyone can hear but I hear what I want to. I'm alone and need to keep moving. Stopping to take a phone call isn't happening hardly ever.

It seems like I'm left home alone a lot. I don't jam out to anything if the customer is around.

I wish I could, but i can't get my Galaxy S4 to work with any BlueToof device more than a foot or two away.

Anyone with an S4 getting better range than that, or do they just have poor BT transceivers?

Are you loving the S4 otherwise Frank?

That was the last Galaxy I owned.

I hear the S7 is awesome, if you wanted to stick with Samsung.

BT issue is my only complaint.

I have read about others with issues with BT performance on S4's, but it does not seem to be too widespread, and possibly due to bad or weak solder on BT antenna.

Upgrade is in a couple of months and still going to stick with Samsung irregardless of this issue.

I like the Notes, but don't like that you can't change the battery, so I am undecided.

Kickass phones otherwise.

The Pig Man said it right. I would never isolate myself from my customers.

On empties/commercial I have one earbud in and one ear on performance/machine, etc.

Handel on the Law for entertainment and a bunch of business & motivational stuff for development.

I feel like I should clarify my earlier post. The only time that I listen to podcast is when I am cleaning an empty. If the customer is present I don't even carry my cell phone, it is tucked away in my truck. I want the customer to know I am all about them and not thinking about the next buck.

I was given Boze headphones with noise cancelling for Christmas. They worked great on the over seas flights. Got me back into podcasts. I don't use them driving, just the cheapie headphones I can hear the vehicle noises through.

It drives me nuts on the trails with people with their earbuds so loud I scream at them and they still don't know I am behind them. They will be deaf soon.

LOL

Its me playing music too loud.

Thanks Steve, you'd think I would be smarter but I rock it while cutting. :errf:

Hey Richard, the rock music contributed to my tinnitus and hearing loss most certainly--especially while in bands and there was a little problem with the P.A. spikes--yikes!!! I miss good hearing. Care less about my eyesight which is going downhill, too.

Tracy what Grant Cardone program do you listen to? I tried to listen to his call in show and found it mind numbing with name drops and self engrandisement. But I know that Ryan and Ty really like him and Ryan does a Periscope after one of his shows talking about the show.

This morning I was dealing with a long commute and then waiting for someone.. So I had a lot of time... For some reason I ended up watching about two hours worth of live coverage of 9-11 as it was unfolding.

I remember exactly how I woke up that morning in San Marcos CA and opened up my new laptop with the dial up modem Internet and was sitting there in disbelief... By then both towers were hit.

I left home for work and of course the radio was blasting with live coverage (kfi640 Handle) and was going to a gas station to get something and there was a crowd inside the store everyone watching the TV they had.

I remember minute by minute where I was, what I was doing....when the towers collapsed I was already pulling up to my first job...

Chills...even today..

And it made me think: it is unbelievable how far we have come from that day and how many people forgot what happened. Or just simply want to minimize it.
