These machines are all the rage on the "other" forum - I chimed in once as Jim did once when someone was calling anyone who spent 18k+ on a TM a moron, listed the shortcomings I saw, I posted almost the exact same list as Jim - and got a good reaming from the cult, the responses were - they do the same thing, and theirs was cheaper than mine. . . . . . tried to help the uninformed/inexperienced situation - but found I was dealing with the unfixable combination - stupid/stubborn, and shut my yap.

They'll find out in 1000, 1500, 2000 hrs, what the extra $ for a TM not built solely around price would have gotten them - or maybe not and think it's cheaper to spend 14k every 2-3 years than 25k every 10.

Usually a post that could result in loss of board sales will result in a permanent banning at Tm F. Sales to newbies are the main reason for the forum and they rule with a hair trigger on the banning button to limit decent and protect sales. With limits on free speech and objective opinions it's easier for Rob to appear to be king. Silly newbies with their minds full of mush. Rob will shake one hand while the other hand is on their wallet.

Post subject: Re: Does Galvy and PVC have a place on a high heat truckmount?

I have no clue, not an engineer.

What i do know is most cleaners in any market buy portables and entry level truckmounts, this is THE market. Look around, how many cleaners in your market have a truckmount that cost $20k or more? {not including van}

I can count maybe 20 out of 1000, and how many are recent purchases?
Not too many especially in this economy.

PS. We use butler and cant imagine why anybody would buy anything else.
But that is just how carpet cleaners think, this is your average buyer.

Shane, especially for a new business I think unexpected and multiple equipment failures definitely have the potential to kill a newer business.

Take a guys truck away for 4 or 5 days when he is already struggling with the payments and not that much business and its not necessarily the cost of the repair but the loss of revenue and screwed up cash flow that trips them.

Unexpected equipment failures are their least worries.IMO

Unexpected expenses, now that is a problem

Factoring in lost revenue, I would call unexpected equiptment failure an unexpected expense.
