want to decrease your "dry to touch" times dramatically?
Wash your hands and towel dry them...then immediately feel the carpet

I've determined there are three types of people in the world.

I know I am coming from a different angle, but our business has pretty much always been "commercial only". And with the Cimex/Releasit system we've been able to accurately advertise dry carpet within 2 hours. Of course - that's for encap cleaning, not HWE.

If we're talking 1 gal RTU solution on 300sf of carpet, might take one hour in some places, 3 to 5 hours (or way more in some conditions)

In Florida essentially every place is running their AC system pretty much year round. Can't live without it! Buildings are sealed and the HVAC runs around the clock. With the HVAC running, it's usually never a problem to hit 2 hours or less. But I agree, if the AC is not running, the dry times can run longer.

I'm like Russ. I ask which room they want dry quickest and start there leaving fans on it while doing the rest. The rest is 8-10 hours dry to the touch perhaps longer. I tell them 24 hours for moving furniture back.

I haven't read the entire thread but I always told them that we do our best to leave it as dry as possible when we leave, however areas that had higher traffic/soil load required more rinsing may be more damp. Leave the blocks or tabs underneath the furniture until the next day. In some cases if they were having a function later in the day we'd leave a few behind and pick up the next day.

When we applied protector we would tell them to not walk on the carpet as much as possible to allow the product to properly "cure" so that they got the most benefit out of it.

We always had 3-4 airpaths on the truck and average job would be 4 rooms and we'd have one in every room to expedite drying.
