Hi Tim

I'm probably the only cleaner here that offers every cleaning process known to man, including extremely low moisture options.

The silk doesn't concern me as much as the "other materials" might..

Can you get a hold of the manufacturers information of what exactly this carpet is composed of?. I'd like to know the manufacturer and style as well.

Where is your home located?

Square footage estimate?

Let's start with that information and proceed from there..

Thank you very much

Mike, Thanks for the rapid reply. I have reviewed the brochure that came with the carpeting. The make of the carpet is "Dream Weaver" from "Engineered Floors". It's interesting that the brochure does not show silk as a material anywhere but the installer advised us it was partially made of silk. The other materials consist of polyester and/or nylon. The carpet was viewed at Summit Carpet (across from COD Casino) and then ordered by the installer. We have no other information on the carpet outside of the warranty, care and maintenance brochure.

We are located in Gardnerville in the Ranchos. Our address is 1249 Sierra Vista Dr. You are welcome to inspect the carpet at your convenience. We are looking to clean the carpet in the living room, 2 hallways, and the Master Bedroom and the walkways into the rooms (probably about 600-800 sq ft. total).

Thank you,

That is purely synthetic carpet and there's no worry whatsoever using a controlled hot water extraction system, which when I do it usually dries within few short hours..

They use the word silk to describe the soft touch but that's where any resemblance to anything made by mother nature ends with that product.

I’ve never come across a silk carpet installed wall to wall, so I would’ve doubted it was actually silk. I did look at a home filled with silk orientals. I turned it down, too big of a liability. Owners daughter said no one wanted to touch them.

We've seen a few installed, but it would be a house manager calling on behalf of "The Principal"...
