I don't use the renovators EXCEPT if you happen to get a job that has crap (construction dust and small peices, nails, paperclips, etc.) all over the place. Quickly go over and THEN vacumn. Saves a lot of time.

I keep the "tile" brushes on all the time.

I haven't used any lube at all. I clean the underside with a green pad and water.

I find it easier to clean. The dry lube sprays on, then leaves a sort of silica film that does not drip. The main thing, though, is keeping the equipment clean, right?

Wash your brushes and hose off the under carriage at the end of the day and you will be fine. Don't let it sit dirty. Lots of cleaners leave salt deposits which will corrode your machine

Be careful when you hose it down so as not to drive salt and or detergent residues into the guts where it can do serious damage. Perhaps just wiping the under carriage out might minimize what gets into the guts.
