I was talking to a service guy today that has worked extensivly on Powermatics, and he says that the PM 47 blower should be run at about 2800 rpm and 14 at the guage for maximum performance. What do the blower pros say?

Also, what would be the best rpm AND HG setting for the genesis 59 blower that is 1 to 1 with the engine rpms?

Things I should really know......but don't.

Powermatic/Legacy is a 45 blower, Ar-Dub
Mostly Roots blowers were used, but there were a couple/few years they dropped in Sutorbuilts

they came from the factory set at 11HG and depending what year, 2900 /3100 RPM was the recommended engine speed
as you know, it's direct coupled, so blower spins whatever the engine RPM is

I believe max specs for the Roots 45 is 15 hg /3600 rpm
We run at 14 hg/3100-3200 RPM

donno about the big Genny
but a 59 blower will move a lot of air, so if single wanding, it wouldn't take much RPM ..I'm "guessing" 1500 or less
For dual wanding, i'd crank it whatever manufacture max specs are for the blower ...I'm "guessing again" that would be in the 14hg/ 2600-2800 rpm range???

on complete lockdown of the waste tank including the spring relief valve...( duct taped shut )
i could easily hold 16 Hg........
