I’m looking at used vans right now.

Nearly bought a 2018 Express 2500 with a 6.0 yesterday at a big dealership, but thought it was overpriced for the miles (165,xxx and needed 4 tires @ $14k out the door).

Had they thrown on 4 new tires and replaced the dead battery it had from sitting on the lot since summer, I’d have drove it home. Maybe. At that mileage, to me, it’s an $8500-$10k vehicle.

It also seemed so flimsy and cheap compared to the older vans from the late 90’s I’ve ran for years.

So now I’m thinking about the Ford Econolines, but haven’t heard anything good about the motors in them.

What are everyone’s thoughts on vans?

Non Transit/Promaster/Sprinter.

I didn’t have any major problems with the engine but the transmission failed on it, probably as much from my driving as anything. I had the 4.6l engine and it was more powerful than any engine I had before it

I had a 15 Chevy like that. I used it as my trailer puller. I loved it, and my 11 GS loved it. We were the only ones😏 Everyone else thought it was rough riding🙄 They convinced me to sell it. of course I regret it!

Ford in this case.

Transfer Flow no longer produces kits for vehicles of any make prior to 2017, though I have heard they might go back to 2015 on Promasters. That isn't confirmed yet.

When I was a kid, my insurance agent would always tell me to check out the cost of insurance for a car before I bought one.

Now, it pays to make sure you know you can get a fuel kit for your truck before you buy it.

Even if you are buying a new GM product, make sure it has the 7T6 fuel option installed in the original package.

You'll thank me later.

Your insurance agent was very smart!

One of the best things my father did for me was to have me directly in touch with men who could give me good guidance. These included insurance agents, accountants, attorneys, sales people from other fields, and businessmen in and out of our industry.

Most of what they told me were things he told me, or tried to.

Of course I listened to others more than him, and he understood that.

Such is the relationship of fathers and sons
