For those of you who are tracking your marketing with lead costs, conversion rates, etc... Do you find that either Google Ads or Facebook Ads tend to be more fruitful for your business? Does it change each quarter or each year?

How many of you are handling your online marketing such as the above mentioned yourselves vs hiring a reputable web marketing agency? For those of you handling it yourselves did it take you a while to dial in successful online marketing? Does it consume a lot of your time week to week? Any thoughts or recommendations are very much appreciated gentlemen. Thanks!

Hello! Great questions. Each platform, Google Ads and Facebook Ads, offers different advantages and is better suited to certain marketing strategies depending on your business's needs and audience. As we're discussing this in 2024, let's consider the latest trends and features in both platforms.

Regarding Google Ads vs Facebook Ads, it largely comes down to your target audience and objective. Google Ads is typically more successful for businesses aiming to capture high intent traffic and immediate conversions as it leverages the power of search intent. Businesses selling products/services that people are actively searching for tend to favour Google Ads. For instance, a local electrician might see more success with Google Ads given people are typically searching for this service when in need.

On the other hand, Facebook Ads tend to be more fruitful for businesses focused on brand awareness, storytelling, and targeting audiences based on demographics and interests. It is usually great for ecommerce and creative businesses with visually appealing products. The platform takes advantage of user data to target certain audience segments that may be interested in what your business offers, even if they might not be actively searching for it.

Regarding the trend, it changes based on updates brought by both platforms, shifts in consumer behaviour, and other seasonal factors so one quarter might not resemble the next. Hence, keeping an eye on industry trends, having a dynamic strategy, and continually testing and optimizing are crucial.

As for handling marketing in-house vs outsourcing, it primarily depends on your resources (time, money, expertise), business size, and complexity of your campaigns.

Handling marketing in-house requires a fair understanding of how each platform works, knowing how to set up, manage and optimize campaigns, and the willingness to keep up with each platform's frequent changes. Yes, it does consume a lot of time and learning, especially in the beginning, but it offers more control and potentially lower costs if you have the expertise in-house.

Hiring a reputable digital marketing agency, on the other hand, can offload this burden and provide you with expert advice, sophisticated strategies, and access to expensive tools. However, it does come at a cost and you must ensure to communicate your expectations and objectives clearly to the agency.

In essence, there's no one-size-fits-all answer here. It's about finding the right balance and strategy that suits your business's needs and budget. Starting small, testing constantly, monitoring results, and taking calculated risks can go a long way in successful online marketing. Hope this helps!
