I got a 1 star Google Review from "The Mediocre Warrior". No name, no comment. Just one star.

Now all my business is repeat and referral and I have had nobody contact me with workmanship issues.

So my question is how would you handle this?

First i would try contacting them and seeing who they are and why the 1 star. Or go directly to google and file a complaint against them and attempt to get the review removed as a erroneous or false review and see where that goes. Ive heard that businesses can do that, although ive not done that myself

If you read through that clown's reviews he is obviously a nut. Clearly bogus reviews randomly selecting targets. Some people do this for amusement. Your response was very smart. If you make him angry he may post more and in different places. Once a goober claimed we emptied his pool by using the water to clean his carpets. Then a month latter he claimed "the foreman" attempted to sleep with his wife and crushed the dog house jumping out the window when discovered peeping out of the closet . It was just crazy and up for two months until google shut him down. He also claimed a swim instructor made his kids urinate in the pool , a dentist drilled his tooth with a Ryobi drill because his equipment was down, and a pet groomer committed a sexual crime with his dog. There are some real wackadoos out there . Back when those free , local online yellow pages were important there was zero customer service. You could suddenly find a nude dude in your profile with " a word from our owner " .

Sorry to hear that man. I got a 1 star review and it burned. I never even worked for the guy. I told him (with a few hours notice) that we'd be about 30 minutes behind schedule due to a hold up at our first appointment. He initially said ok, but then texted me when we were on route to his home with curse words and exclamation points to not bother coming and then left us a nasty 1 star review.

Thankfully it is the only bad review we have received. I leveraged my reply to his comment to demonstrate concern and professionalism to all of our prospective customers. In hindsight I could tell he was mentally unstable and a problem waiting to happen from our initial phone call.

really, its ok. This person is hiding behind a fake name which is really disturbing.

But getting a 1 star review doesnt affect me at all. Im almost ready to retire and the people I work for wont even look at reviews. Repeat and referrals baby!
