This is a honda clone. Its on sale for $699.00 and i can get it for $525 with a coupon.
My Honda has 4100 hours on it and may go soon.
But a Honda is 1500 bucks plus a 200 muffler.
This clone comes with the muffler. I dont need an engine yet.... im leary of harbor freight stuff. But do you think its worth a try? Just curious its a hell of a deal.

Will not have the durability of the new Honda 22.5HP engine.

Too new to know actual hours, but I would guess about 1/3 the number of hours.

Engines are not the item to skimp on.

Also, the 20% off coupon doesn't apply to Predator engines.

I agree but if it lasted 2,000 hours. Looks like it could be a lifan engine. Not sure...my honda is a 24hp which im sure is really 22 now.

It would be interesting to see how long one lasts with good maintenance. At that price you can afford to buy two and keep one for a spare...

If a direct fit, I'd try it.
like Dan said...buy two

only real complaint I've read about them is the idle is too high (1800 rpm) for centrifugal clutch go-carts

You can also buy a 3 year extended warranty from them I believe, and I don't think the coupon applies to engines, generators and a couple other things.

I dont have a problem spending more money on a honda... but im just curious about this. If it breaks down during busy season. I can go get a honda. I have an open tm. Tcs. So it looks like i could probably remove old engine and install the new one in under 10 mins.

I have an almond farmer customer that put the Harbor Freight 22 on a portable augar. Runs the crap out of it two seasons in a row. Runs full throttle all day for weeks.

With the lifan motors, it really comes down to if you get a good one and do the maintenance before it calls for it.

Many manufacturing companies ( carpet cleaning) are using the motors with pretty good success.

You will need to adjust valaves and such a bit more often on the cheaper engines.

Looks like it could be a lifan engine. .

I've heard good things about Lifans in general.

Don't assume anything with such a vital purchase.

Foolish to pull the trigger without being sure of exactly what your buying.

Lifan or not a Lifan…. That is the question.
