How long is your hose? Well......how far can you reach?

We rarely run over 150ft most of the year, but we did one place on the weekend that had the Genesis running 350ft and the Legend running 300ft.

The Legend ran the first 4 lengths as 2.5" and at the end of the 6th hose, there was barely a difference compared to running 2x 2" off the machine stright.

In my opinion, the 2.5 makes a massive difference on longer hose runs with the smaller machine... please don't tell Rob Allen, that was the very subject that caused me to leave their board. I made an informative post, someone asked a question, Rob disappears it

I can't stand petty games like that.

Airflow ...it's measured in terms of packets of air, or cubic feet per minute, 'cfm', or how many shoeboxes can aqueeze through the hose in a given time.
For that, you want short hose, fat hose and straight hose.

Vac hose math (pi x radius squared) is all you need to predict what is best.
Hose Radius is the key.

All the real world testing supports what we already know...
Maximize the dual 2" hose component of your run.
Then maximize the 2.5" component of your run.
Minimize the single 2" component and eliminate the 1.5" whip.

4-to-the door outperforms equal lengths of 2.5"

You don't need 5-door cuz you lose nothing with 4-door.

Wherever the Y is, that's where you just moved the van to.

For every section of 2.5" hose, you move yourself 50ft closer.

The shape of the y connector is irrelevant, (eg , 'y' or 'Y' ... net cfm is the same)

Lift is the number of horses, cfm as the shoebox.

short fat & straight rules baby.

We now have 200 ft avalable, We have 2 clients that requir that much, 75% we use 100 or less. Till I sold all my old hoses both pres and vac we could have stretched out 1000 or better.
We would use our pump out veiw filters hooked in the first 50 ft and that helped with our recovery and drying times..

I assume you're talking 1x2.5 vs 2x2?
do the tests
got a cfm meter? If not, see Shane, he's got meters and test kit, I know, cuz I sent him 3-4 not long ago.
see which setup moves more air.

or just do the math, what's the cross-sectional area of each?
