We decided on purchasing a new truck when our V kept having issues not the equipment but the truck and the new UD dealer in town didn't seem to know shit about it and last time it was down for about 10 days and we got 30+ jobs behind. So once the new truck arrived the V decided to straighten up and run right. So I used the new truck for orientals at the shop and after a year we decided to put her on the schedule to give it a good test under warranty. I liked her so well and she was do much quieter that the V has now become the backup and real soon will have her own schedule again. When it starts to fill (next season) I plan on purchasing another. Hopefully I can locate a great deal in a used 650 and rig at that time. I'm kinda of like Jim I sleep better at night knowing I have a back up!

My Cleanco has been so reliable that my backup (ChemTex Panther 20) sits more than I'd like.

It is comforting though, knowing she's waiting in case the need arises.

Still for sale but haven't pushed very hard to sell. I'd LOVE a new Butler and keep my Cleanco as a backup or overflow truck. My biz isn't quite there yet but we are getting there!

Whats funny is I never needed a back up till I had one.

Ok, that is not true, I had one major issue it put me down for a week. Luckily my buddy was out of town and he offered up access to his shop. I now own that machine.

That one breakdown would in no way have paid for a back up until it was needed.

Recently had van issues, it gets repaired by friday and back with 2 units next week.

I used to always have a backup when I was going full time. At the time my dad and I like buying and selling equipment, more than thinking about breaking down. It was nice though, not to worry about my TM.

I knew it! As soon as I posted, something was going to happen!

Fuel pump crapped out again this morning!

Last year, I went through 3 fuel pumps in the newest van. ( and I am on the 5th set of crappy GM shocks in the past 30 days...bought after market today!)

Van is under warranty, but the only warranty company NOW, does not have enough techs, couldn't look at it until Monday, and then would order parts. :icon_rolleyes: :eekk: and probably put it out another week!

So, I had it towed to another shop run by my Brother in Law, parts should be here tomorrow morning, and we will back in business with the 2nd unit for tomorrow afternoon (really need it!)

I tell, you....even losing the 2nd van sucks! I have a portable (Cobra 500) that I won at connections about 2 years ago and have only used it twice.

Don't really like using portables (Sorry Willy)

But even though this has happened.....

MY WIFE FOUND OUT TODAY SHE DOES NOT HAVE CANCER!!!!

Now just 6 weeks of healing.....a damn van and cc unit is very secondary at this moment....

Now where did I put that bottle of wine! :) :very_drunk:

Now I feel like I have derailed this thread :icon_rolleyes:....Sorry! :frown:

But appreciate all the kind words.... :)

Now with Back up vans :)

I hope to have my second van back on the road by this afternoon (which I really need it for afternoon)

Hope those of you that don't have an optional back up seriously continue with good luck.

I really don't wish down time from equipment on anyone.... or loss of income.... :)

And today....I had both vans in the shop!

Oil pressure sensor went out of the reliable 2008.

Thought, NO WAY! Blew a motor....can't be.

Never done that with our maintenance routine!

Check it out quick at the dealership, made our way for the morning with the one van (new sensor ordered)

And had the two vans on the last wall to wall (thankfully empty) Full house!

For awhile I thought we were out of business, or going to the shop for the portable which we have only had to use twice.
