Ah…about the width of the wand or smaller depends on the grime on the carpet.

I hate these trick questions…

I use a 2 jet wand most of the time.. i try and move the wand so second pass the jets hit where they didn't the first past.
I often see the 2 lines made by the jets so I try to neutralize that.
But that's just the norm. I have a technique I move right then come back left then right then back to the left. Lot of over lapping. It leaves a more even look.

If you're seeing lines with a two jet wand something is misaligned or your jets are worn out

Even a single jet i see the distortion. Low pressure doesn't help. It's the cheap ass carpet most people buy.
I can just tell so I go over it and over it. It gets them cleaner anyway so no biiggee.

I really don't want another disposable item.

I know the carpet is already a type of plastic but where is all that nylon going?
