how much pressure do you loose?

The static pressure is as Les, described. When you key the wand it’s another story. Hook up a pressure gage right next to the wand; it’s a real eye opener. Happily pressure drops with hose length about as fast as vacuum.

There are lots of pressure loss restrictions in TM systems.

Heating systems have significant pressure losses.

We measured an Amtex coil HX with over 130 PSI pressure drop.

A well-engineered parallel tube HX will be less than 40 PSI.

Pressure loss in 1/4" hose is also a big loss.

Parflex hose with the thermoplastic core has the least pressure loss.

Wire-braid hose has more pressure loss.

Fred's hose numbers are more accurate (180 PSI for 100' of 1/4" hose @ 2 GPM).

So if I use 200 ft 1/4 hose at 1200 psi on a hard floor tool with 2- 04 jets the pressure drops 360 PSI ???

Did you know that a Judson truckmount is so well-engineered it has no pressure drop.

When the wand is keyed the pressure at the wand will be much less. the easiest thing to do is a bucket test. Determine how much flow you want and adjust the pressure till your filling the bucket to your desired level in a minute.. Example, lets say you want a 2 gal a minute flow to clean carpets. Time how long it takes to fill a two gallon mark on a bucket.. If it is less than two minutes then turn the pressure down. If it is more then raise the pressure. I generally run my machines between 5-6 hundred psi and run live reels with 200 feet of hose on them
