I been trying for years. Asking them to stop calling is a waste of time and the do not call list is a joke, but I finally found a system that has helped out a great deal.

Nomorobo.com

and it is free.

You have to have call forwarding.

So once you know a telemarketers number you enter in the service if it is not already and next time they call Nomorob pickups and hangs up on them.

I has help me out a lot.

Thought I would share

Do you use a cell phone? Any iPhone etc. has the "Block this Number" option on it now. When "Sarah my Google Specialist" calls, we block the number by one click on the phone. Sometimes they get tricky and call from another number a few weeks later, but simple as click. Now having office lines I would see where this would be extremely helpful.

I was doing that but when I was in the office it still rang. Plus I was not sure where these number are stored on the iphone are they transferred over when I upgrade, what if I swap to something other than I phone, and a few other concerns like that I had when I was doing the iphone blocking.

I have over 200 thus blocked.

Have to be discerning, not all out of area calls are sales.

Some local calls are telemarketers lately too. I just got one I add to my Nomorobo.

Just signed up....we will see.

It didn't give me any instructions on how to enter the numbers. Can't figure out how it will determine what ones are telemarketers if I can enter numbers for future...

You have to login in and report number that dont get blocked.

You will know if was a telemarketer if only rings once. I always go Ha Ha when I hear ring once.

They might call the first time, but unless they come up as unknown, they won't get answered the 2nd time. I created a Contact on my phone list, so it will get transferred, called Idiot Telemarketer. I simply update that contact with each new number as it comes in. So when the phone rings, I do stop and look at the phone, but if its that contact, I reject the call and keep doing what I was doing.

That is what I thought, but there is no where to do that when I log in. I thought once i registered my numbers, I'd get instructions on what to do when we get a call but it just said I was complete after getting the confirmation call from them and that was it.

I clicked all the tabs and found nothing (but would expect one that says something like "report a number") I sent them an email so we will see.

I have found that the quickest way to divert a live caller is to tell them that the owner can only be reached using the following email address......... and that you are not allowed to give out their contact number to any (annoying) telemarketers.

I tell them when they call that they will never be able to reach him at this number. Is there something I can help you with? Then they say, I'll try back later. And I tell them, you will NEVER reach him on this line so don't bother trying back. Remove us from your calling list. (Or they say, I'll call him on his mobile and when I ask what mobile number they have, they hang up)

But a couple of months later, they call again. So I hope this service helps out....

I save all their numbers under "DICKHEAD".

When the number shows up, I just cancel the call.

Every time you get a new iphone the numbers you blocked dont transfer to the new phone. I just give them Chavez's # and tell them he's my boss who makes the decisions.

I tell them I only do in person and they have to come to my office. I charge a minimum of 500 up front and that covers the first 30 minutes. Most hang up on me.
