I'm trying to get to the high pressure seals on this pump. The manual says to take out the low pressure then remove the seal case with reverse pliers. The seal case has holes on the side of it. Do I buy reverse pliers to grab the holes and pull out ?

Though this is not the same cat pump, a picture of the same seal case in on page two.

Cat makes a special tool, but you can tease them out with an awl or small screwdriver wedged in the holes. Let some penetrating oil soak in the joints first. Worked for me.

After talking with Cat I found that the seal case is taken out from the outside of the body as only half of it is in the cylinder. Just pry out with small screwdriver. The holes inside are weep holes. So easy once you know what the heck to do.

On another note, the price of the seal kit for the cat 3cp was $185.00 in 2 local carpet cleaning suppliers. As I've read on other posts, parts are sooooo much cheaper if shopping online. Dultmier had the same kit for $66.00. How's that for a freakin mark up. Contrary to what I've heard, you can order individual parts of the kit so there is no need to order the whole kit if not needed. For instance, the low pressure seals. 9 bucks a piece here: http://www.autowashonline.com/defau...FieldsList=Keyword&SearchSource=ProductSearch .I was also charged $154.00 for the solenoid that is attached on the waste tank that Dultmier had for around 60 bucks. Too bad that when I need these things they are an emergency and have to take it up the #$%^.
