I used to do things like that. Then I realized that the people on the phone are just like you and me. They are trying to survive. Believe me they would not take such a sh**ty job if they could find anything better. So, now I just tell them I am really not interested in what they are selling but I am interested in them getting their commission. So I ask them what I need to do so they can get the commission. If it is not too difficult I'll do it. Best thing is the agent makes a living and the company using these sucky tactics loses money. All is well in the world.
It's gotten to the point we just hang up right after hearing they are "Google Search Specialists" "See if we Qualify..." "We've been chosen on Who's Who" etc. The only one I don't hang up on is the Yelp guys, I at least give them a few minutes, otherwise they might scold our account. Not like it ranks anyways on there.
