Carpet is very expensive these days. I just bought a12x20 average cut pile and 7# pad for 650 bucks. Cash and carry. Unreal. 20 bucks a yard for average carpet.

Really? I had 1200 square feet installed with pad for $20/yd here. Average poly frieze, installer got it through Sherman Williams

It was on a job, not my house. Although I have similar carpet in my house and after 5 years it's done well for the price paid

They probably had a shelf of Capture or Host fur "cleaning carpets" and tell all their customers to wait as long as possible before they clean their carpets because it "Will get dirty real fast if you clean it" We have those stores out here too. Nice people though.
