I agree but I clean a lot of trashed rentals that I don't always charge enough for and it's usually cheap ass carpet that the additional rinse doesn't usually do much for.

Higher end Residential is when I use my rinse more often but that's a smaller part of business for us.

Dude.

so the $1.50 worth of rinse is going to erase your profit on the job?

The shittier the condition the more the benefit.

Well I did a $900 job Saturday that took me 4 and a half hours by myself. No rinse.
I've been cleaning it for about 6 years now. I've tried a variety of methods and products and rinses haven't made a difference.

It's not that I haven't tried. Just found when and where it makes a difference.

I just use more more Prespray and flush more. Some carpet like cheap poly rental Crap doesn't make much difference from what I've seen.
And like I said. I've seen the gel from mixing products.

maybe your resi numbers would be (considerably) higher if you listened to those who do $300 to $400 a year in it....
Or if I marketed to it.
We have a huge rental market here that keeps us busy through the year.

I have a decent residential base but they don't call yearly except the elderly who I keep losing. Think i lost another one. Her daughter called to reschedulebecause she wasn't doing good. Haven't heard back.

Some call every 3 or 4 years.

But I could do a lot better with higher end Residential I agree.

Washing these vynil curtains at the wedding barn today. I wash the ropes too and recant everything. Then I have the deck to wash.
I use a buffer and cleaner then spray it off with the hose.
Nobody here but you guys to bug me. 1592232942756330466280860876135.jpg

What does the IICRC say?
Well, originally the IICRC said no rinse is needed.

Then, because manufacturers told them to, they said you need to prespray your detergent and use an acid rinse.

Now they say no rinse is needed.

? Maybe Mark just wants to see if anyone reads to the bottom of his posts.

Hey SteveO......can ya move that couch.....

SEeeeeee!
I went over scope of job before we did anything. Even vacuumed first. Was told traffic lanes only. I even asked if they were sure.

Had me and Genny bouncing around. She was not happy. Bob you are right I couldn't get out of their fast enough. We laughed most of the way home.

I've seen so much as a carpet cleaner in the Chicago Southside and burbs ghettos I wasn't nearly as phased as Genny. She got PTSD from it.

See Steve....if you had been using an emulsifier......
You would NOT have had to run all the way out to yor truck and get yor prespray and then you wouldn't of had to move the couch onto the "clean" carpet to spray the area where the couch was....

Steve a carpet cleaner should be aware of all the nutjobs out there.....and have contingent plans accordingly.....
