Going to look at a van I found tomorrow.

99' with less than 90k miles on it. 3/4 ton dodge 360 v8.

Looks real clean inside and out. Was Gov owned.

Things I should look for?

On the surface it look like a steal for the miles and the clean body.

Van is going to be sent to Spokane, My nephew is taking over for me there. We are going to step things up. Got rid of the guy I had there after he blew up my van.. Hmm, over heating I think I will keep driving it, it is snowing how hot can it get?

Oh well, we have mostly only been doing rentals there, but come April we are gunna hit the city hard RES, COM, whatever.

I dont think dodge vans can handle the mileage fords or chevys can. I also hear that they have lots of transmission and drive train problems

We had Dodges for many years, they held up as good as any but the thing that would keep me from buying one is they look dated.

Not much change in many years.

Our dodge is the only van Ive had that rusted, and fast. Tranny is another concern. Seriously though, with a van that is 13 years old its a crapshoot no matter what.

Great van. By far the least problematic we've had in our fleet and every one we've sold is still on the road. Of the ones we've sold, one had an engine replacement due to tech not checking oil, one had a transmission replacement due to a cooling line break while cleaning.

We typically replaced a water pump and a fuel pump in 90,000 miles and 7-8,000 hours of CDS use. Since yours didn't have a PTO, I'd guess it might be due for a fuel pump.

I emailed an offer, low..

Seemed to drive pretty good, over all body was good.
It's a cargo van what can I say.

But the guy said he always pulled a trailer, that concerns me as people say the tranny is weak.

Thinking I will hear back tomorrow if I'm the new owner of an old Dodge van.

Otherwise back in the hunt.

Bryan.. Yeah, I've always known you've loved your dodges.. I kinda wish you had one for sale now.

My 98 B3500 was good for a few years, then she started falling apart.

Rearend, balljoints, waterpump, radiator.

1 ton is not really a true 1 ton rearend.

The only thing I liked was the 5.9 liter engine. It was strong with Steamway PM and 100 gal freshtank full.

Repairs where done myself but seemed like alot over 5 yrs.

Check that thing out thoroughly.
