How often should I change out the 370 belts?

the rest of you Fidiots suggesting go until you blow, stitching together with paper clips, replacing with bicycle chains or turn them inside out for extra longevity, can just keep yo moufs shut.

I'm probably due myself on the 870. 2400 hours so far. Way better than my Amtex at every 150 hours.

I think your manual calls for 1000 hours so that would probably be a good # depending on your tension maintenance schedule.

2000 hours. The belt cooler makes a world of difference on that model.

My service guys tend to be very cautious, but having just interviewed them, they agree.

As Kevin suggested, make sure you check the tension every 100 hours

Page 29 of your 370 manual covers it. If you'd like to talk to Paul, I'll have him call you with his tips.

I haven't the "mechanic's touch" when it comes to those things.

Your conversation with him will go something like this:

check the belts for cracking across the belt. If you keep an eye on them they will give you plenty of warning before they will just snap. For tension, Deflection between the engine and the pump at the greatest distance should be between 1/2 to 3/4 of inch (Just push on it).

My belts(370) lasted for at least 4-5 years. Maybe that goofy little frame fan does help.

Even when one finally did go, it just threw some teeth and thankfully it was very uneventful.

Changing them myself the first time was difficult. Would be much quicker now.
