KaBoom goes the house!

This is one of our clients....yesterday morning...their house exploded!!!

The wife was in the home when it happened and got thrown out into the yard amongst the debris field!

She is doing fine I guess so far...but DANG!!!

He rebuilds and is a specialist with metal work and restoring classic cars.

We just cleaned this place last month....

Scary!

While I am not an explosion expert by any means, I will have to go on record stating that something went really wrong in this house.

The pressure that is needed to cause that much damage is great. Would like to know what the fuel source was and how/why it happened.

We heard she fired up the furnace and the blast happened.

It was pretty wild!

Wife made it out and doing OK.

I have a 1000 gallon propane tank....I always wondered what kind of bomb it would make.

If you can get it to BLEVE, the fire ball can be 600 times the volume of the tank.

But... it is extraordinarily hard to get that to happen.

I have red scrape marks all around it from the mower hitting it. I believe the front of my mower is magnetic.

propane is heavier than air, so if there is a leak it would fill the basement like water would. Thus most up to date building codes don't allow propane water heaters or furnaces in the basement.
