No offense, but you are already going to be in a shady neighborhood during the day(good thing)so why stay there after the fact? Not like anybody is going to walk from those hotel/motels that you list anyway,so why not for a similar price send them up the same freeway to Taylor rd exit in Roseville/Rocklin where there are 3,count them,3 nice hotels right off that offramp and the nightlife is going to be much better in Roseville for all your male bonding time.Thunder Valley Casino is 5 minutes away and they just built a billion dollar hotel with rooms for 99 dollars.Just a suggestion, because it makes no sense for a guy not from the area(or country for that matter)to try and make accommodations for other people.

Mark,

How about putting up the info on the Hotels, address and nightly confirmed rates for the event dates?

Distance from the event would be helpful too.

That's a great suggestion for logging. Having wizzed by Proline several times in the last few weeks I couldn't agree more. North Highlands is currently one of the arm pits of Sac County. Prostitutes just a mile away ( no jokes please) and serious street folks and such. "And such" is politically correct yes?

Yeah, North Highlands, syphlis Heights, some skank areas...Esp right arount Proline and the other supply places like Central CA Cleaning Supply towards Sac.

I suggested the casino a while back but they were still building that hotel when I left...The Falls Bar is a little pricey but who knows what's going on there now.....Been a while.

Best damn breakfast buffet I ever had and I've been to Vegas.

Well, our mystery man Blunt won't help pick a place so unless a local in Sac wants to find a hotel with a bar attached near Old Town or another good night spotm I'm going to stick with what Proline suggested.

I apologize for having a life.I sent you some of the Roseville ones.If you are going to old town Sac,they have a comedy club there you might want to hit.Proline is smack in the middle of old town and Roseville.Thunder Valley is 5 easy minutes from the Roseville hotels.

Just so people know - we have decided not to use the Vagabond Inn because we found a better one with more ammenities.

Its the Holiday Inn in Old Town

Stay tuned for a deal on a group rate. We should have more info by tomorrow night.

My stay at the Vagbond motel near DT LA, a mile from the Staples center, was an interesting one. We stayed there the night before the LA Marathon, which my Son ran in, I think in 04. Didn't seem like a bad area. About 2 in the morning, we woke to an LAPD helicopter circling over head, shining a huge spotlight down on a corner convienience store, ordering gangs of people to "disperse...leave the area", just like the movies. Of course, this was well before the scorge of bed bugs.

Vagabonds are a chain. The reviews looked a little shaky. Also they didn't have a bar .

The deal isn't completely worked out yet but it looks like $104 plus parking a night at the Holiday Inn but much nicer and quieter and right in Old Town.

This is whats going through our minds about the accommodation.

Sure as shit you guys are all going to want to head down to Old Town in the evenings. (Just like you headed downtown in Nashville at the last two MFs).

So you have a long taxi ride to the down town if we go for rooms near the event at Proline. The rooms near Proline still require a taxi ride to get to the Fest. It makes more sense to stay downtown where you can have fun and be safe and just take a taxi to Proline both days? The Holiday Inn has an airport shuttle too.

The rooms might be slightly more expensive at the Holiday Inn but overall it will cost the same or even slightly less because of less cab fairs to stay downtown. Also this hotel is closer to the airport.

LOL....stay clear of North Highlands everyone...anything close to Proline is ghetto. 1) The Holiday Inn downtown is a good selection since it's in downtown and Old Sac where's there's many restaurants and bars. 2) There's also the Holiday Inn in Roseville near the Galleria off I-80 which is another selection because it's close to the casino and Roseville has some decent hangouts to chase tail...if your into that. 3) Marriott and several other hotels off HWY 50 in Rancho by CTI has several all nude strip clubs and Hooters nearby if your into that as well

Amber and I just booked at Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza.

The gal on the phone wasn't sure if they were dog friendly.

She said the Holiday Inn Express around the corner (half a block) is for sure.
