I have a 20" wide by 79" slot between my tanks and the side shelving. I made a sliding platform/ramp to slide in there and I park buffers, fans, and stuff on it. I can grab the handle by the back door and slide everything out for better access and loading.

Justin - to answer your original question of how hot can the incoming be ... I talked to Scott at Lil Giant and he said it dosent matter how hot the incoming preheated water is. You will not damage the system. Youll get the heat you want without burning too much propane. And the burner will only come on when it detected a drop below your temp setting.

Also keeping the heat exchanger and supplementing with propane is a great idea. Id turn the heater facing out in fear of bumping the control knob etc when loading and unloading equipment. Also make a wind guard to prevent the flame from blowing out. Dont wanna close the door cause the heater needs air.
