We just won a bid on a hotel that is quite literally across the street. We bid them at 18 dollar a room, they move all furniture and go around the beds. I added 4 dollars a room for red stain removal or difficult stains so those wouldn't hurt our production times. We are extracting the entire place before we start them on a low moisture program. And will continue to HWE the breakfast area as well as stairwells.

Thugee?? Patel??? Sorry, I don't know what that means. Thugee has something to do with stranglers (choking) or ghetto and Patel is a name of a person.

Re: motel room pricing? UPDATE

went to look at the rooms today, they told me last cleaner who use a TM charged $10.00 per room.

I don't think I will do that,
so he tried to find the previous guy and called him with me standing there the other company said sure $10.00 is good again.

I left my card and said good bye.

not much you can do about that, I've heard hotels are notoriously cheap... worse than Chinese restaurants.

No offense, but what are you thinking? Four dollars a room!!! That's highway robbery. The going rate up here is 3 bucks a room and you have to clean Kumar's house free of charge. I don't even want to get into the details when I tried a motel job. Well, I will say I almost strangled Mr. Kumar. I will never even think of going to bid or clean a motel/hotel.

Yeah, all the mold, soil, skin cells and seaman stains that are still brewing in those rugs, but on the bright side, they got what they paid for! That must be how they do the Comfort Inn in Monroville Pa., near Pembertons, I've been in cleaner porta-pottys than that hole!

I wouldn't open the door and piss on their carpet for $4.00 a room!

I would. :|

Actually, I use to clean some at a casino here once a week for $25 each.
They moved everything off the carpet before I got there, I would spend about 30 minutes HWE on each room. I told them they had to have at least 5 rooms ready for me and they had to be grouped together in the same area.
I don't do them anymore because they got a new manager who wants to impress the bosses (family) and he thinks he's saving money by paying the maintenance guy to do them with a 'porti'. One of the supervisors told me the maintenance guy spends 8 hours per room and it looks ok when he's done but it take a couple days to dry.

 The Dube was definitely flying.

I don't even bid motels anymore. I have a handful of very fine hotels that are willing to pay a fair price for cleaning because their customers rate their experiences Expedia, Travelocity, etc.

You should charge them what they charge their customers for an hour.
Although I wouldn't give em a bid on Mattress Cleaning.

I can't resist myself. I tried to clean a motel for a guy named Kumar last year. I hacked out 16 rooms in the first hour with a RX at 9 dollars a room. We were rolling along nicely. I had to clean 70 rooms. After the first hour I knew I would never do another motel EVER. Long story short the guy starts complaining about us not getting under beds and edging etc. and said we were not deodorizing the carpet. We decided to just pack our things up and get paid for what we had done. He said he wasn't paying and we got into a heated debate and I told him pay up or I am kicking your ass right here. He threatened to call the cops but he just called his wife. Not only did he pay up, but a guy fixing doors and his receptionist quit. I take that back. The guy fixing doors told him to F off and the receptionist got fired because she called him cheap. My helper said it was one of the funniest things he had seen in a while. You would have had to be there. The funny thing is another company was there the day before and they were supposedly going to clean his house and do each room for 3 dollars, but they walked out as well. I kept their card incase I ever needed somone to do something dirt cheap. I haven't called them yet, but I might.

That right there is funny.....id told him to go ahead and call the cops, and when they got there i would have told them to arrest him for theft...
