Oh ya got the new gasket put on my tank. All my belts with 1430 hours are in great shape still.

And we set the relief to 15 with a 100 feet of hose.

Surprise it's 15 @ the machine with out the hose.

Super happy about improved vacuum.

Why are TM manufacturers setting the vac at 12" in the 1st place ??

Your 5 amp breaker is strictly a thermal breaker.

I think the the 570 in the book says 14hg.

The pro 1200 is 13 hg's. But ya a little higher probably wouldn't hurt.

The only answer I got for that question was that the recovery tanks are aluminum and have a chance to get damaged if it's set higher. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. It was just the best educated answer I got from another carpet cleaner. I had the same question with my Titan

I think you are right about that or it's one factor at setting vac at 12 or 13. Someone else said they get better measured air flow at 12"... but I don't understand that. Seems like HydraMaster should upgrade to Stainless Steel waste tanks for a stronger, longer lasting system.
Think this is one of the reasons Butler is able to give a 10 year warranty with their equipment.

Where you set your relief valve depends on your air flow. Smaller blowers may need a higher setting, maybe 14-15 hg. Larger blowers produce so much airflow that your wand may seal too much to the carpet requiring too much effort to move it. You have to use your own judgement. Has nothing to do with you recovery tank unless it's made in China
