I went through two packs today. I cleaned some wool area rugs, a 28' white sectional, white carpets and a urine soaked pottery barn wool rug. It seems to work fine and kill odors fairly well. It's a little hard to get used to. You are supposed to dump the entire bag in a 5 gal. Bucket and then use it. Instead I dumped the two bags in an old container and scooped it out. I mixed one scoop per gal. Each time I rolled and mixed the container. I understand the reason behind dumping the whole bag but it's not convienant. If I'm going to buy it I might as well test it the way I'll end up using it. By the last job what was left was pretty caked up. It clearly absorbs moisture from the air easily. One of the small bags turned into a Mylar ballon just from being in my garage. It has no odor and the products are fairly innocuous. I like it so far but not sure I could get used to the bags.

We do sell it in a bulk format. It comes in a 20 lb box, which makes 100 gallons, same price. The bulk powder is in a very thick plastic bag. If you're careful, and reclose it much the way you would a loaf of bread, it should be fine. The product will still go into solution, even when it hardens, it just requires a little more patience. Mix 1/3 cup to one gallon of water. I hope that helps?

If you use a 17" rotary buffer, you want 19" pads. We prefer the poly/rayon blend over cotton for longevity and the "shed" factor. These are the looped mop-yarn type bonnets and they are available at Hescoinc.com under the product number ASP-19. Don't trust yourself by looking at their pictures, you'll pick the wrong ones! We will also offer them on our website (soon, I hope) but they're not there yet.

Are you talking about the PolyZorb chem dry type bonnets?

I feel like those let the weight of the machine "escape"..

I prefer the thin Tuways or the blue micros... Healing really works well with those.

Haven't tried those. Yes, the other bonnets are similar to the ones you referenced. It is a personal preference; the main thing is that it is thick enough to agitate without damage and absorbent enough to pull the moisture from the carpet.

Those just never felt like I was digging in..

Does your hubby use an OP machine or 175?

Would you say this product was first designed with a specific machine and pad in mind?

How does it differ from Chem Dry's juice?

We have always used a 175 although it would work with OP as well. I don't know that it was necessarily designed with any specific machine in mind, but we were using the 175 so that's how it developed.
As to the other question .... let's just say that we think it's the best self-carbonating cleaner available. ;)

You said it could be mixed and left for use within a year? Thats a lot of carbonation! Do you make Tonic Water?

It just shows that the fiz has little to do with its cleaning ability. I mix up 5 gallons at a time and keep it on the truck for urine stains.

 Uhm, yeah, it DOES lose carbonation after awhile. BUT it's still a very effective cleaner even when the bubbles are gone. Tonic water? Interesting thought ... we've often said we're club soda with a club! ;)

Marty is right. The fizz is NOT what cleans. The carbonation goes to mechanics. The initial carbonating reaction helps by making some types of soils easier to remove. But using it the way Marty is using it (for example), it is still a very effective even once it's lost its fizz.

Tried it today on cheap CGD in a church, I was pretty impressed how well it cleaned and removed oil spots and some unknown spills, cant wait to hit one of our trashed rentals
