Almost all of that was caused by the plumber cleaning out the drain line. So it was whatever tool he was using

The plumber says it is all dirt, tree roots, and tampons. He caused most of this as he was cleaning out the sewer line.
I am guessing the tree roots smashed up the clay pipes and dirt has been falling into the pipe for awhile. It's only a matter of time before the plumber is back out to do it again.

He would just charge it back to the customer. I just do the job and don't get involved.

how did the plumber cause that?
how does snaking a drain cause a back-up INTO the house?:headscratch:

once the clog down steam is opened, the chit runs out, not back IN

I guess he had to cut his way into the clog of dirt and tree roots. Water jetting probably.
