Mytee M-5 and ETM Same CFM and Lift

Looking at the info that Mytee provides their M-5 and ETM have the exact same lift and CFM

They both say: 144 inches lift, and 230 CFM

You would think that the ETM specs would be better then their portable.

Are the vac motors the same in both units?

Thanks, Ross

Ross;

The ETM comes with a third vac booster unit.

So it has 50% more vacuum.

Hey Larry,

Yeah, that just means one more cord to me. More setup time.

It seems like sinking a lot of extra money in an ETM when I could just cut the wheels off an M-5 and keep it on the van.

Are you familiar with these machines? Seems like the place to start without all the add-ons.

It's good to hear people pointing out the obvious about electric truck mounts and the fact that they simply are portable units without wheels, mounted into a van.

Nothing wrong with portables or ETMs, but let's not carried away with them being some kind of miraculous new wave invention in cleaning.

Besides, unless you're running at least 3 electric cords to the door, you will need propane to heat the water

ETM's will become more powerful and incorporate heat in the next few months.

Terry builds a nice ETM machine.

You will need a booster with most of the ETM's.

We have built 3-Vac and 4-Vac portables,
with some of the new energy-efficient vac motors.

We also built some electric TM's with #3 blowers,
and HX from the van engine.

How fast do you want to go ?

Maybe you could stick a couple of the new larger vacs that Larry sells and Terry is using.

I'm sure Larry has a link ...............

You will need a booster with most of the ETM's. An ETM itself takes 2 cords so now we-re at 3 electric cords

Lets be realistic about the compelling advances and future of the ETM, its a 3 cord minimum machine requiring propane if its going to be considered a viable alternative to even a small truckmount

Fred;

Some of the ones we built used a fresh water tank HX heated by the van engine.

Temp was ~ 160° or so.

That could be improved upon today.

Hot enough for adequate ETM cleaning.

'lectro mounts have a place in the industry .
relatively inexpensive , quiet and clean are their greatest virtues.

The problem is and always will be (at least in the near future) the power source needs to have the performance of a med sized positive displacement blower

When you throw in a generator to supply a power source (so you never have to find the breaker box in Mrs Phiff's cluttered basement or closet) you lost all the virtues of 'letro suck machines.
cause you've added expense, a GAS system and lost floor space to boot

that don't make $en$e to me when a self contained gas TM will take up less floor space and give better performance
