The only alternative that is less expensive is to do it yourself.
Depending on the type of pond, those circulating pumps are either IN the pond itself, or adjacent to it inside some type of access panel (submersible or external). If you know exactly where the pump is, and you can access it with no problem, it should be a simple swap out of the power supply and water in/out. I would try to find the pump first and identify exactly the one you need, and most importantly the connection types so there are no surprises, and then shop that exact pump.
Re: Need to replace fresh water supply pump on Water Pond...
The Water-Pond pump is external...
Many times it is JUST the check-valve that needs replaced...
Is the pump running...but NOT building pressure.... :?:
If it is...? Run some WHITE VINEGAR through the pump...!
If it begins to PRIME...run a gal of 50/50 white vinegar to remove any remaining SCALE...
Then run 1 gal of DAWN dish-washing detergent through the pump...
This will FLUSH-OUT the white vinegar "ACID"...and lube the pump impeller... !gotcha!
ps MANY time you ca just TAP on the TOP of the pump..to dislodge any contaminants.
ALSO...check the screen inside of the pond...
Re: Need to replace fresh water supply pump on Water Pond...
Must have a gold plated impeller!!! Does sound expensive.
I'm sure you can retro fit something for a lot less, all you are doing is transfering water, not chicken feed.. Take care
Re: Need to replace fresh water supply pump on Water Pond...
after spending money on pumps impellers, lubircate etc and not knowing what was wrong I decided to just go with a bait tank pump that shuts down automatically when it isn't drawing they range from 65-150. I had the 139 pump running on 2 machines for about a year now and never had a problem except when the tank ran dry I had to prime
