So one of my Minneapolis color trainees this week was told by someone that there is no market for carpet dyeing services. ;)

Check out the job that my trainee just got in today!

Congregation just purchased this church. They want the entire carpet restored. It's still in excellent overall structural condition. $$$

He should be able to charge $6,000 - $8,000. Job will take him one day. Total material cost will be around $20.

Equipment needed: Portable extractor, dye wand ($80), and some dye.

Was that John Oyen?
That church really looks familiar, kinda looks like the place my old church rented. If it is that carpet should only be 2-3 years old. Defenatly wonder what happened. I wish I could get some of my people to do color correction but most would rather replace the carpet then "fuss" with it. I think there were some people in my area that did really bad work and ruined the reputation of color correction.

No, it was not Jon Oyen. I trained Jon about 3 years ago. He's in Minneapolis. This church is not in Minnesota.

Carpet dyeing typically saves 65% – 80% when compared with the cost of replacing carpet, so it's a very attractive option for many people.

Unfortunately the carpet dyeing industry has been tarnished by too many people who weren't properly trained. They did very poor quality work which damaged the reputation of the industry.

Here's an example. This acid spot on the carpet in a Marriott hotel was "repaired" buy a carpet cleaner who claimed he could dye the carpet. The second photo shows what it looked like when he was finished. The third photo shows what it look like after we were finished. This was the Spring Hill Suites Marriott in Centreville, Virginia. They had these spots throughout their entire hotel. We charged them $1,800.00 per floor (5 floors) to go through and fix all of the spots.

nice work on both pictures! but for different reasons :p
I have known Jon for many years but we don't speak to each other anymore for several reasons.
I think, last I heard, his church was trying to buy the building that my old church rented.

Not to be a debbie downer, but pictures should be same angle, same lighting when using them for presentations or a brag book... It gives more credibility to the photos..
