Nor am I sure it matters what it "looked" like to the naked eye
obviously (seems obvious anyway) the only reason the HG would increase on the push stroke would be due to tighter "lock down" on the carpet.
restricting airflow and increasing lift
Just seems a no brainer to me, that it's due to the dynamics/physics of pushing a wand forward compared to pulling it.
It's being drug "over" the carpet when pulling.
it's being pushed down a bit "into" the carpet when pushed
lay a wand on a scale and drag it backwards.
Watch the scale wt increase when you push it forward
maybe I'm missing sump'um, but there doesn't seem to be any surprise about the increased HG to me
