I just picked up another 3 crb machines from Craigslist, ebay, and another source in Philadelphia, spending less than 3,000$. Nothing wrong with buying used in my opinion. I'm up to 11 machines, 7 constantly being used and the rest for back up as carpet cleaning is the largest part of our biz.
Just seen a BrushPro (even though not my choice or crb yet) go on eBay for $1,400. Carpet cleaners go out of business everyday trying to unload these. If you don't have the bank roll that some of these guys do (or pretend to) going used is the way to do it. Running these machines almost 6 to 8 hours a day and have had them break down maybe once a year due to new gears needed. This cost is usually around $400 to replace gears/belts.
Just a helpful tip for someone starting out or working on ways to grow in the low moisture part of our business!
