That's not a good idea. I don't know how long you've had it hooked up that way, but over time, that 1 1/2" hose will pinch. I know from experience
About 15 years so far , no problems. Its just a short whip that allows quick easy 1.5 tools to be connected, or pull it out and connect 2'' tools. Less restriction than a 10 ft whip.

I think I learned this from Aerotech:

CFM is more important than Hg when it comes to water extraction.
1.5 will increase Hg but lower CFM due to more restriction.
2.0 or 2.5 is less restrictive than 1.5- allowing for greater airflow.

Think of it this way- A 4 lane highway vs a 2 lane highway.-- a 4 lane highway has better flow.

@Mikey P I like the lightweight of my 1.5 SS 12 wand, but I feel like I'm going to bend the wand-- seems flimsy.

@Kenny Hayes , here's your chance again. I really like mine. It is so nice and light and does do a good job cleaning stairs. Even if it has only one spray nozzle, it is plenty enough for the job. I have babied my stair wand because I really do enjoy working with it.
