I love my SS upholstery tool.

I've gotten use to it, and don't miss my drimaster in the slightest.

Made this job a hell of a lot easier.

Thank you for your honesty Greg- we would have actually been a little less than that but close. If someone tried to charge me 2k for that there isn't a door wide enough to save them from injury as I threw them out of my condo.

Good for you Becker. I hope you made plenty for your hard work.

Actually my prices are close to Gregs. I would of charged a bit more for the furniture (I haven't raised my prices in over 15 years. I should raise my rates.) They are just habit now. I would of charged for other stuff like Teflon or other services.

He didn't mention protectant Mike. If he had then we would have been a little over a grand for the same job.

i don't understand , you'd kick someone's ass out of your house for charging what "you" consider excessive pricing, but will hose a custy for $400 for $40 bucks in 'guard?

seems inconsistent

They would get an exceptional job at around $700 for the cleaning.

I don't have any problem with our pricing Larry and it would have been closer to 300 for protenctant, much of which would be a very expensive product for upholstery that would be well over $40 just for that.

What would your price be for the job Larry- with and without protectant?

i have no doubt they'd get an adequate job, Ken
"exceptional" is a subjective term though...in the eyes of one person it might be, in the eyes of another it ain't

I don't have any problem with our pricing Larry

I don't have any problem with your pricing either, or Mikes...or anybody else for that matter

What would your price be for the job Larry- with and without protectant?

what i charge doesn't matter (I wasn't the one that threatened bodily injury  )

"there isn't a door wide enough to save them from injury as I threw them out of my condo"

but our prices would generally be between yours and Mike's
I pretty much give protectant away , right about at cost (enough extra$ to cover labor)
cause it's not near worth what most are charging for it...ESPECIALLY on olefin

The point is, you hammered Mike (and i presume anyone else that command "hi-roller" prices)
when we all know that those that push protectant make a killing off it..that's why they push it

that's why it seemed inconsistent to me, cause I'm assuming (maybe wrongly?) that the profit margins on your protectent sales are sky high compared the margins on the cleaning part of job

once again, I don't GAS what you or anyone else charges .
Just seemed odd that you would dog someone over their charge

Re: One of my biggest single visit jobs. What a day it was t

he didn't dog anyone, he basicly said $2g's was excessive and Mikey didn't give a price, he asked if Peckerhead made that.

I will throw the gauntlet down Larry, what do you use for equipment and what do you do for what you charge. Exceptional isn't subjective to a professional, it is to a customer. I leave every home and every business knowing no one could have done it better, do you?

Gauntlet served Biotch snap. I would think most owner operators who take pride in what they do would always go above and beyond the call of duty in service.

And if Mikey gets those prices praise the lord, I'm glad there's people out there making top dollar for thier work! I think I would have priced like You Greg thats just me, and my house aint worth a million so I can live on less! I also give the protector away.

Cti new fine fabric protector $28.00 a gal will cover approx 7 sofa's guess 49 feet $4.00 a foot so about $196 return on a gal. it works so thats fine.

Its funny larry your price with free teflon are still higher then Kens? so is the fabric protector free?

just wondering Iseeru.

n*gga pleeze...

"exceptional" is a subjective term....even among professionals
Ken's certainly a professional .
He's also a great business man and great guy personally and i always pay attention to what Ken says.

maybe he gives exceptional "value" , but for the most part his crews don't vac, don't roto scrub, and don't use pre-spray

what equipment we use??

the basic equipment that's always in the van;

Steamway Legacy 2100 .
They equal or out perform any single wand TM on the market...bar none

the gear that gets used regularly are Vac, elect sprayer, Rotary, Ti wand, stair/hand and upl tools

what we do for our money?

cover all hard surfaces we cross (in res)
vac when needed (appx 30% in res 70% in empties*)
pre-spray (the best money can buy
Roto scrub when needed (which isn't too often in res) less than 10%
appx 30% in the empties , 70% in com
No additional charge for red stain removal (in res)
Airmovers used in res and com (depending on conditions and carpet type)
dry times without airmovers (in favorable drying conditions) are in the 1 to 3 hour range*
*what most of the moonpies call "dry" anyway.

and most importantly, make custy's love and trust us ..cause that's really what it's about

I leave every home and every business knowing no one could have done it better, do you?

100% of them, 100% of the time?
hell no
and anyone that says they do is FOS or only does 2 jobs a week....or just doesn't know any better.
sheeet, I'd bet a nickel even our anal retentive compulsive disorder friend Werner has a bad day once in awhile

but we clean carpets for a living and we're damn good at it

you use alot of when needed and depending who decides when needed? we do it everytime
I made a mistake and chose to rotovac jobs earlier this spring and am now prescrubbing everyone. If you want to be the best you have to leave everyone else behind.

Steamway Legacy 2100
prolly used and old and yes we do the best 100% of the time, atleast our customers tell us that we may see OUR mistakes like the rotovac

the experienced professional

so, do you think Werner could go behind you and pull more dry soil out of a 50% of carpets you cleaned ?

I'd bet he could .

which would make this an incorrect statement
