We do one in SCRUZ where they wait for a outbreak of some sort ( flu, hives, mumps, the clap ) to have us come in and clean common areas.

Now I have one in Nevada and could use some ideas that dont involve going out at midnight to prevent slip and falls.

Cimex, Cimex, Cimex! Of course OP would work. That’s all I use is Cimex. If you go to mopping, they go to walking. Same with carpet.:hopeless:

Zipper wand and air movers is what we do....especially in areas going from damp carpet to other floor surfaces...and we ask staff to make sure all staff is aware we are cleaning and please help.

We clean them in the daytime and time areas around feeding times to coordinate what areas we are cleaning in

If the clap is going around the rest home I'd walk.

I do a few rest homes. I go in from 8-11:00 PM and just do a section at a time. The staff has to get the residents in their rooms by 8:00. The alzhiemers units are tough because the people keep coming out and the employees don't pay a bit of attention. I'm always afraid one is going to slip out the door and I'm going to be on the news as the carpet cleaner who propped the door open and search and rescue units had to search for 48 hours.

I always go thru windows, and do sections at a time. Zipper the dining room after supper, Activity rooms roughly between 7 and 9pm. I'm usually the lookout, and we will instantly shut things down if there is the slightest chance of an issue.

After main soil load is removed, touch up with encap a few hours later if needed.

Too many frail people and too many hoses, plus added moisture. They have to take that burden of liability, we aren't willing to. All it would take is one to trip, fall and you'd be as dead as they would be once the lawyers got through with you.

"Sir do you know there are dry compounds in your industry available for this exact scenario? Well..It doesn't clean as well.
Are you telling me that you created a dangerous situation that caused a person to end up in the hospital because your system CLEANED better? "

Hey Richard, do you have them sign a waiver of liability on that issue?

Not but we do make sure are concerns are in an email. Verbal they can always conveniently, not remember.

Hmm, I'm thinking that if there ever really was an accident that an email warning and stating that you are not liable for accidents may not be sufficient to protect you. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.

It wouldn't. But it's something for them to accept some responsibility and hopefully address the concern.

In this day and age even doing everything right doesn't keep you from being sued. Anyone can claim anything and it costs you to defend it.

Richard, without getting into details, has your company ever been sued and what was the outcome? Anyone else?
