Maybe connect steam horn to sound off to tell you that heat is ready to be used or just for the hell of it, just toot the horn because you can and have steam to do so.

No. I use male QD on the business end of the hose. If there is pressure in the line tap it on the wand and you are good to go.

Only time it would be helpful is when the helper tried to connect the wand and wasn't seated properly-so now ther is pressure between the shutoff valve and the quick connect poppet.

Here lies the problem with the pop off slammer unit.

You have to go to the truck to get the pressurepopper thingy so you might as well just open your regulator and connect the tool.

Would be nice on bigger jobs when switching from hydroforce to tool and vice versa if someone doesn't get the quick connect seated properly as it would save time from running to truck back and forth.

So you would just take it in with the spotters and need as needed..

Now I will be buying a couple.

Keep air out of your line. That has been the only time I had issues with my QDs.

I suspect that's where the idea and valve comes from
a compressor bleed off valve
(used to bleed off tank pressure at end of day to minimize wear on seals)

..L.T.A.
I get that. Ive only had the issue a couple times where I had to shut down to reconnect. A couple times I used a key or screwdriver to to relieve the pressure.

Use good water and nothing fouls up. Checked my inline filter last week, first time in over six months and spotless. That's the filter before the pump. Jets haven't plugged in about same time.

I just had some leaky fittings and valves to repair.

Use a ball valve and hope said chimp doesn't pressurize the line while it's not seated.

Because if he does? I don't think you'll be able to attach this relief thingy either with out running to the truck to depresurrize.

That is the purpose of this thing!

Otherwise it has no purpose.

I imagine the middle stem hits the qds poppet reliving the bit of volume of pressure it has as ling as The valve is closed and has no blow by.
