Hello. I have an older Prochem legend gt. I am trying to shop around and find the best price for my heat exchanger’s. I have the part numbers for the SS and the copper. I am doing Google searches to find out the price for each, but I’m not having much luck figuring out which SS one is for my unit. I have heard the SS are around a thousand, then another guy told me they are only around $600. Can anyone shed any light on the prices and where to buy them. Jon Don seems to be more than other places. Thank you.

My Legend GT is from 2013. I paid about $1,100 for a new ss exchanger a few years ago. At the time I was looking it seemed that all the less expensive ones were copper.

Can you get your current exchanger fixed? If you need to have it out for a few days for that, you can bypass it where the hoses connect. Don't forget to block the holes in the plate while it is out.

Not sure if I can get them fixed. A guy at a shop her told me that they can rarely be fixed. A friend of mine who owns a cleaning company in Arkansas said he has a welded who fixes his. I know my copper one has a big hole in it that I can see. I had already bypassed the copper one, then I got water out of the exhaust again, so I assume that one if not both of the SS ones are leaking also. This local guy told me to just plug one end and put a water hose on the other end to see if it leaks. My friend from Arkansas says he has his pressure tested. I would rather get them fixed for sure. Where did you get you SS from? Thank you

Don't let it leak too long. Are you seeing rusty water blow out when you start it up? The interior parts of the HE box can rust away. They don't make the HE box anymore. My middle HE is held in place by sealant where the pipes go through the plate. The inside rusted enough that there is no interior support.
