In this post I will be sharing a number of videos and pictures describing the various phases of design and construction in advance of equipment yet be installed.

I acquired the property in November 2016.

Feel free to ask questions on any aspect of this project. It's my intention to make periodic posts when relevant. The project is expected to be complete by April 1st.

I start this thread with our newly installed sign.

It started on a handshake with Garry Moyer on his building. Location and space was conducive for me.

I thought it made sense to install a window in the rug drop-off for curious ones to view the wash area. They will see a hospital white room with blue specialty equipment to care for their precious rugs.

Dudley, one of the resident camels, sure proved curious.

the first dudley photo was a great one.
Is there a reason that you removed the carpeting from in front of the door for the inspection area?

Yes. Rugs come in soiled and smelly. The hard surface is easier to clean and sanitize daily. We take pictures of all rugs and they show well on the surface we chose.

The first coat of epoxy went on entire floor with the exception of where the floor would be cut to remove the concrete to accept the installation of a perimeter trench drain.

Very interesting.
Tom, what are you doing for noise reduction in the plant?

We have a policy that stipulates that no one can raise their voice or yell.

But seriously, I do not anticipate a problem. If so, we will address by acoustical panels. No doubt a little help from my musician buds. In good weather, the two overhead doors will be open. Fresh air is always appreciated.

"Training Center"

More details on that please...

We will be hosting a number of events. Firstly, Jim Bardwell comes up the first week of April to do a DISC presentation for a select group trade related professionals. Coming sometime in June ARCS will be putting on a rug repair event. (Dates and details being worked out) We expect Doug Heiferman to come at some point to teach an IICRC course. Aaron Groseclose will likely make it out for a rug event. Of course, 'Show and Tells' by appointment to learn how to use the equipment Greg Turcotte and I design, build and use and oh yes, sell too. This will not be likely a high production facility under my management.

These pictures show the trench drain we decided to install. There is a fair amount of work to do this layout correctly. The product we chose, as seen here, has pitch to it and is ordered accordingly for water flow. The concrete was cut and sand was dug out to receive the drain system. All sections for checked for being level and direction of pitch for flow as masterminded ahead of time. Then concrete was poured to secure it in place initially, then after dried it was topped off and finished by trowel. I found that the dry wall taped seams were in bad shape. So you can see in some of these pictures our effort to redo it. It was determined to put in an occasional expansion control joint too to alleviate cracking on the wide span of the ceiling. More pictures of that will eventually follow. For now view the drainage systems installation.
