Does protector (for a short while) NOT allow soil to stick to fibers thus enabling carpet to appear and remain clean after each vacuuming?

Soil attaches itself to the fiber or the protector covering the fiber. Either way, the carpet is dirty. I have never seen any positive indication that vacuuming a protector coated fiber removes any attached soil more effectively than a non-protected fiber. The only positive thing experience has taught me is that carpet protection helps prevent stains.

Test the protector you're selling and make your own evaluations.

I've seen incredible differences in performance between products that otherwise seem to be identical.

MOST importantly, here is the dirty truth few want to talk about:

Protectors work their best on new carpet with no texture damage and no cleaning product residues.

The only tests worth looking at are on a carpet that has been exposed to use, then thoroughly cleaned and rinsed.

Maybe I’ve been missing out $$ all these years. But I don’t sell it nor apply it. My concern is adding more chemicals aka cleaning detergents in a home. I just don’t feel safe spreading it around.

I rethought about it after talking to a buddy of mine that includes it in his pricing. Still I’m a hesitant to use it. Just wondering if there is a benefit to helping carpets look cleaner longer after a few times of only vacuuming. I don’t have any carpets in my home so dont have any way of testing.

I totally agree as well. I don't want to leave chemicals behind as well so I don't offer it unless they specifically ask for it.

That's another story altogether.

You can research some of the data about PFAS.

This is about the most objective material of which I'm aware:

Everyone has to make their own decisions regarding chemical use and exposure, both in the business world and in their personal lives.

Thank you Jim.

It seems like we are all exposed to some level of harmful chemicals from foods to clothing to furniture to just sitting at a park.
The more advances, the more it harms your health and the environment. It’s madness. I don’t believe anyone can dodge completely no matter how hard one tries.

I had to order some Papi’s Super Sealer this afternoon because one of my customers scheduled for early November. She always has me apply it to her furniture and carpet.
I sell it more on furniture jobs than carpet.
(It’s a Soap Daddy product, so Mikey hates it.)

Years ago, I cleaned the carpet for my buddy from the Blue Crew and I used TCI product called ARA(anti-resoilig agent) When I met him four months later, he swore that protectant is holding up and his carpet looks clean. I don't push protectant at all, especially in households with little kids.

I use scotchgard on cushions and rugs I clean at my location. Several customers request it for outdoor furniture. Used scotchgard on tent seams growing up to keep dry.
I can see where it wears off on the seats because it doesn't beed up when clean them again but it does work.
Never had success with carpet protectors so I stopped using them.

I don't use it anymore. After applying it on a job i am pulling slick snot out of my nose for 2 to 3 days after. If that is in my nose then it is also in my lungs. If you do prolonged exposure who knows what the long term affect will be.
I had also applied it on a job and 2 days later customer called and said she had ended up in the ER for respiratory issues. Narrowed it to that because I had cleaned 3 rms in her house and she only had issues in the one room I had applied protectant.
