Is this relief valve ghetto????

45 Blower says Max 15 HG???

Remember I'm a newbie with TM

What should HG read when I hook up hose and should be 12-15 if I put my hand on suction end of hose????

What is the relief valve doing exactly or suppose to be doing???

Jordan;

Ideally, the relief valve should not open until the maximum for the model blower is reached.

Check how smoothly the valve opens.

Looks like an older #45,
so that would be 15" hg. with the vac port closed off with your hand.

That vac hose will most likely get too hot above that exhaust pipe.

Is there a filter between the wand and blower? Don't think I would trust just an inline filter.

YES, Larry I have been having issues with hose getting to hot...What to use for 2" hose??? Is hard piping a bad idea?? Or extending it out?

Guy that built it has a hose for me just have gotten over to get it from him.

When I close off Hose cuff I am getting about 13 HG at 3200 rpm. Would 15 not be till I maxed out engine at 3600??? I may be in line for a new relief valve sooner than later.

It could be that your motor doesn't have enough power to reach 15" unless its all the way powered up to max rpm. What Hp is your motor? What size blower? What size pulley is on blower?

i see it a 45. you should be a able to go to any evco house of hose and get some hose that has a thick wire coil through it that keeps it from collapsing. Prolly run you about $10.00. ill post a pic of mine in a minute.

You'll probably have to on that one. I prolly wouldn't push it to 15". Try 14 and see how it runs there.

not sure what Draper is talking about
But it's unlikely you'll stall 20hp Kohler running 15hg

run it at 3300 rpm, cap off the vac port and see ..it should hold at 3100-3200 rpm

you don't need to run 15hg though..you're taxing your system for little to no gain in dry times
14 is more than enough on normal hose runs

You should listen to Larry. He's the veteran here. If he can't understand me than surely you won't either.
