The riser, the bull nose, and the tread.... it’s all part of the stairs.
It’s like asking if guys skip behind doors, or the interior of closets...

They all get at least vacuumed. I may not put a full trigger spray extraction on all the risers, only where they truly need it.
I mean I spray the rinse on them from a a foot away and then extract off. Then put the extra trigger spray at critical areas.
I don't typically do a full on prespray on the risers either, more of an overspray if not needed.

With the swivel it is never a pain in the arse, so it is not any problem to clean the risers.
