Some of the structures that were destroyed in the CZU Lightning Fire were in the Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
Can you imagine the payload of water or fire retardant a B52 could drop. How about 20 in a row.
Just need a dozen or so Mars water bombers...
I don't know why they don't build something similar to the Martin Mars. I watched a demonstration years ago on Harrison Lake. It's awe inspiring. We need to pool resources with neighboring states and send them where needed most. I believe there is still one airworthy mars on the island. Should be in California.
The Mars water bombers holds 60,000 lbs.
I don't think the spray would be effective. We have a company that has converted c130's into water bombers. They carry aprox 4000 lbs of water which they drop all at once or in stages. The spray would likely vaporize before it hit the ground. They have roll on, roll off tanks to speed up reloading.
