Red is the current evac zone

star is the kid's home and shop
dots are our former shops
black lines are 4 lane highways, that can hopefully contain the blaze moving in their direction, relentlessly. evac-map-santa-cruz-png-1597981373.png

Just need a dozen or so Mars water bombers...
Turn around would be 5-10 times faster...
I don't know why they don't build something similar to the Martin Mars. I watched a demonstration years ago on Harrison Lake. It's awe inspiring. We need to pool resources with neighboring states and send them where needed most. I believe there is still one airworthy mars on the island. Should be in California.

We have C130's at our local Youngstown Air Reserve Base with a few dedicated aerial sprayers. They were sent to the Gulf to spray oil dispersent (? spelling) during the BP oil fiasco. Not sure if they could be effective in spraying fire retardant.
But this is what they constantly train for. I'll check on the 910th site for info.

These guys fly over Larry Capitoni's often, while training at a nearby drop zone in Ravenna, Ohio.

I don't think the spray would be effective. We have a company that has converted c130's into water bombers. They carry aprox 4000 lbs of water which they drop all at once or in stages. The spray would likely vaporize before it hit the ground. They have roll on, roll off tanks to speed up reloading.

all-de-time .
I didn't know they flew out of Y-town til I got to know one of the pilots while coaching Little League back in the day.

They regular buzzed the ball fields at appx 500ft.
once in awhile w/back gate open and dude in the back waving at the kids

always fly in pairs or triples

I worked on a mop up crew one summer. It was a blast going up the side of a mountain with a piss can on your back in 90 degree heat. I lasted a short period.
