Should I take her money?

So back in August I picked up 3 urine soaked and permanently stained 8x10 bound carpets.
I offered to clean all three for the price of one, or about $330.00. They just weren't worth putting too much time and money into cleaning.

Yesterday I emailed her and informed her that I wasn't going to be able to dye the rugs to hide all the stains.
I gave her the option to take the rugs and pay the full amount or pay a $50 dump fee and she wouldn't have to pay for the cleaning.

So this morning I get her response. She is willing to pay the full amount as well as the dump fee and she apologized for the hassle.

Being a nice guy, I don't feel comfortable having her pay about $380 for something that's being thrown away.
While growing up, my dad had these sayings, "Nice guys finish last" and Nice guys have skinny kids"--- but kindness is a strong trait of mine.
What would be a good compromise or do I deserve the full amount?

You kept her rugs for five months and didn't complete the job?

You should pay her the 380$!

Funny--- she wasn't in a hurry to get them back. I offered to see about dyeing the rugs after I took a class. The customer and I both procrastinated at completing this ordeal. Ill go with the dump fee only offer. thanks

Well Assholes.... this Soulless POS wouldn't even want to charge her the $50 dump fee

She sounds like a wonderful person, I would insist that I don't feel right charging her for the cleaning

Leave it up to her as to what she feels comfortable with as an agreeable payment

She realizes you are a for profit operation and doesn't want you to lose money for your effort

If you put them out with the trash maybe one per week someone will come by and pick them up, Guarantee it.

I doubt that would happen with these rugs.
Besides once unrolled the next person might not be honest enough to take them to the dump and they might be dumped illegally.

A friend of mine had the statement when he could not fix what the customer brought in. I did not get out of bed this morning to work on your problem for free. I charge by the hour. The item is not fixable and will need to be replaced. He would charge the cleaning fee and probably cover the dump fee for her.

He has a point. I would eat the loss of time and just charge the dump fee.
