Nickel plated BRONZE, if I'm not mistaken...

The stainless heads cause the price of the pump to more than double and are special order.

Been going on for awhile .
"Pine Tree" is Ruger's world class casting facility where they make their gun frames and receivers.
Anyone that knows Ruger, knows their big bore hunting revolvers are HEAVY DUTY and will take the pounding from super hot hunting loads.

Pine Tree makes more than just cast stainless gun frames too.
they also make golf club heads for major golf club manufactures out of...you guessed it, cast stainless.

and to prove it I can take a picture of where they stamped a diagram of the cleaning pie along with a warning to never the wand point in the direction of a living being as well as the lyrics to In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Not a guess, it's plated brass.

Wev'e frozen/split, and tried ("tried", because it never seated afterwards) to braze them.

Thx,
Dale
