Great idea

Thank you for a great idea. If it worked for you, it will work for the rest. What Dee Dee (my wife) and I did when we cleaned carpets was to put money in a 3 month CD starting in September. It would mature in winter and we were able to get away and take a break. I have a customer in Chicago Land area (Bolingbrook, IL), who is in his sixties and for the past 10 years he goes to Florida for 3 months.
They key is to charge enough in the busy season so you have the cash for the slow season. In the winter of 1993, I suffered from an ulcer worrying about the business. I decided not to worry and save during the busy season after that horrible experience.

Taf that's a good idea and sounds great. I have never been that forward thinking or financially gifted. So I have used this little card to help get me thru my slow months for about 5 years till I moved and re-started the biz. I am doing my own mailing after working my small list over the Christmas season. I am hoping there are a few more cleanings to come from the list of the past 11 months since the restart. The card has always produced for me. Again, owner-operated, clients like me and want to help me thru the slow months. I am sure it will work for a multi-truck company also, but may need tweaking. Best wishes to all and DON'T forget to implement. Do It and it may work, set it on a shelf and WOW it won't work. (This coming from the world's worst implementer)

Another thought after people send out the post card....Perhaps give them a call and touch base with them and say....How is your carpet holding up?
Not being pushy or anything. If they decline just say you would appreciate any referrals.

Jay's Starving Carpet Cleaner Card

I hope you guy's that need work now took Jay's advise.

I don't know how to post it here so I took a photo, Ive run similar cards,
so I knew it worked well already.

It took Jay's post to get my head outa my ass and get these in the mail.

I tweaked it a bit for my business.
The lead line is Killer!! They read it, that's what you want.

I know exactly how some of you guy's feel about the starving thing, my wife had a fit over it. She said I may as well stand on the corner like Odin with a sign ...will work for food.

Believe me that is not how your client see's the card.

I landed 6 jobs already 5 today.

Today we had no work.

I'm working at 4:00 today because of this card.

Now I asked every client that called, how they perceived the card

remember these are my existing clients they know me and like me.

They all thought it was cute, humorous, great idea
One guy said thought it was great, we get your news letter so we already know you have a sense of humor.

Its the second day after mailing 600 cards and I dropped 700 more hundred in the box today.

Thanks To JAY!!!!
